How to change an account from public to private and vice-versa on Instagram

If you post some content that you don’t want to be viewed by a particular individual or group of people who might go looking for making your account private on Instagram or vice- versa.

Making your profile private or public is quite simple.

 Here are the steps to getting it done, as explained using the Instagram  app:

Step 1: 

Tap the profile icon in the lower right-hand corner of your screen.

Step 2:Tap the menu icon in the upper right.

Step 3:  Tap Settings.

Step 4:  Tap Privacy.

Step 5: Tap Account Privacy.

Step 6:  Now tap the right icon on to change to private account.

After tapping this icon it will become blue and your privacy setting is updated to private.

Step 7: Now just tap OK to save your settings.

You have successfully set your Instagram profile to private. (There’s no requirement to save your setting changes.) As long as you that Private Account option is on, only the users who are currently following you, plus any new users you approve if they request to follow you, will be able to see your Instagram content.

To make Private Account back to Public Account follow these steps:-

 Step 1: Now for making the account Public just tap the private account icon to make it off.

Step 2: Now just click OK and you are done with your privacy settings to Public Account.
